of Shafi’i jurisprudence and to show their contribution to the development of meanings and to trace the stages of this development in the Shafi’i school of thought, and to highlight the grammatical enrichment of terminology among some scholars of the principles of Shafi’i jurisprudence. This research addressed the issue of the development of the meaning of the principles of Shafi’i jurisprudence among the most prominent scholars of Shafi’i jurisprudence;  Theoretically, it established the concept of the fundamental development of semantics and its importance, and outlined the development of semantics and the dimensions that semantics acquire in their development journey, by looking at the divisions of fundamental semantics among the most prominent Shafi’i imams. The research also monitored a group of fundamental terms for semantics that were affected by that development, then concluded with a group of results, the most important of which is that by observing the approaches of the jurists among the Shafi’i scholars, it becomes clear that they dealt with the terms with a flexible ijtihad mentality that gives the words the greatest amount of attention if the meaning is perfected, and that the ability of the fundamental development of semantics reflects the extent of the flexibility of this science to keep pace with the needs of the age, as it is a science that does not stand helpless in the face of the obstacle of terminology, and that there is no fear when talking about the fundamental development of semantics from terminological chaos;  Because there is a field for development that does not go beyond it to others, which is the field of terms that have the ability to develop, as for those fixed terms that represent the religious identity of the nation in the fields of belief and worship, there is no room for semantic development in them, and I have divided this research into three sections
