This research examines the hadith “No bequest for an heir unless the heirs consent” from two perspectives: hadith authentication and jurisprudential analysis. The study collects and evaluates the chains of transmission, assessing their reliability based on established hadith methodology, with particular focus on the addition: “unless the heirs consent.” The study concludes with several findings, most notably the rejection of this addition due to its contradiction with the established meaning found in authentic narrations. The research demonstrates that the hadith “No bequest for an heir” was transmitted through multiple chains, but only the narration of Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) is considered authentic; the remaining narrations are weak. On the jurisprudential level, the study favors the opinion that prohibits making a bequest to an heir, due to the strength and soundness of the supporting evidence.
